I had the amazing opportunity to photograph Sadie’s Cap & Gown shoot. I love working with graduates; they are always so full of ambition and hope for their future. Sadie had this in exponential degree. She excitedly told me about how she intends to become a high school english teacher. Her passion for writing and reading was evident as she told me how excited she is to help future high school students find that same passion. She also proudly shared her experiences in her Speech and Debate club that led to the many medals she wanted to show off.
But the thing that was the most unique about this shoot was Sadie’s relationship with her mom. Throughout the whole shoot her mom was BEAMING, so proud of her daughter. Sadie’s mom explained that she dropped out of high school and then later decided to go too college because she heard a statistic about moms being able to change the course of their childs life by getting a college degree. When Sadie’s Mom, Heather graduated college she wrote on a stole for when they graduated highschool. I could tell this was such a proud mama moment for her and one that sadie was so happy to share with her mom!
