Meet the Kern’s! I loved the opportunity to photograph this fun family. Cathrine is an old friend of mine from high school so when she reached out saying she needed to update her family photos I was thrilled to help her out!
When she called me, she expressed her concern about her son, explaining, he can be tricky and his behavoir can be hard to work with. At first this made me nervous. A friend gave me the idea to do a family outing/adventure photoshoot. this would help her son be entertained. I floated the idea of an “adventure photoshoot” to Cathrine explaining we could go on an easy hike and let her kiddo explore. She was skeptical but ultimately agreed.
This adventure family photoshoot was so successful it has now become a common practice in my business. Family outing photoshoots are such a great opportunity to get the posed images your mom or grandma wants while also capturing unique candid moments of connection in your family.
When we first started Cathrine’s boy was a little shy but then he got exploring on the simple hike we planned and I feel like I got some amazing shots of him and their family. It was a great solution to the awkward family photoshoot!
